The Cheeses of East Anglia Hamper
A grand celebration of East Anglia’s finest artisan cheesemakers
From the windswept coast of Norfolk to the lush pastures of Suffolk, The Cheeses of East Anglia Hamper brings together the very best of the region’s cheesemaking talent. Featuring a beautifully curated selection of soft, hard, and blue cheeses made from cow’s, goat’s, and ewe’s milk, this collection captures the full flavour and character of East Anglia’s countryside.
Each cheese has been lovingly handcrafted by independent makers who embody the Best of British tradition — names synonymous with quality, provenance, and craftsmanship, including Mrs Temple’s, The Goat Shed, Fen Farm Dairy, Ferndale Farm, Norfolk & Better, Wilton Farm, and Julie Cheyney.
This is the ultimate local cheese experience — a hamper that celebrates everything that makes East Anglia a powerhouse of British artisan cheesemaking.
Inside this hamper you’ll find:
-
Suffolk Gold (approx. 250g) – Made by The Suffolk Farmhouse Cheese Company in Creeting St Mary. A semi-hard cow’s milk cheese with a smooth, buttery texture and a mellow golden flavour. Sunshine in cheese form.
-
Wensum White (approx. 180g) – Crafted by The Goat Shed in Honingham. A soft, bloomy-rind goat’s milk cheese, Norfolk’s answer to brie. Creamy, delicately tangy, and irresistibly smooth.
-
Baron Bigod (approx. 250g box) – Produced by Fen Farm Dairy near Bungay, Suffolk. An unpasteurised cow’s milk brie with rich, mushroomy undertones and a luxuriously buttery centre. A true East Anglian icon.
-
Jiffler Blue or Binham Blue (approx. 250g) – We aim to include Jiffler Blue from Norfolk & Better, a creamy blue-veined cheese with a balanced tang and smooth texture. However, during certain times of year, we may substitute Binham Blue from Mrs Temple’s Cheeses, known for its mellow, salty creaminess and delicate veining.
-
Pinkfoot (approx. 250g) – Handmade by Ferndale Farm Dairy in Little Barningham, Norfolk. A semi-hard cow’s milk cheese with a nutty, rounded character and natural rind. Named after the pink-footed geese that grace the Norfolk skies each winter.
-
Wells Alpine (approx. 250g) – Made by Mrs Temple’s Cheeses at Copys Green Farm, Wighton. An Alpine-style cow’s milk cheese aged for depth and complexity, with nutty, savoury tones and a firm yet creamy bite.
-
St Jude (approx. 95g) – Handmade by Julie Cheyney in North Norfolk. A soft, French-inspired cow’s milk cheese with a delicate bloomy rind, buttery texture, and subtle, mushroomy aroma. One of East Anglia’s most elegant small-batch cheeses.
-
Norfolk White Lady (approx. 200g) or Wissington (approx. 200g) – Depending on availability, we include either Norfolk White Lady, a smooth, mild sheep’s milk brie or Wissington, a soft, creamy ewe’s milk cheese from Becky Enefer at Wilton Farm. Both are exceptional examples of East Anglia’s growing expertise in Ewe's milk cheeses.
-
Two packs of artisan cheese crackers – Specially selected to complement both soft and hard cheeses.
-
Jar of The Garden Pantry chutney – Small-batch, handmade in Norfolk using seasonal ingredients.
-
Jar of Candi’s Chutney – Created by Candi Robertson in Norfolk, blending local produce and bold flavours for the perfect cheeseboard accompaniment.
-
Small jar of Eastgate Larder Medlar Jelly – Made by Jane Steward in Eastgate. A delicately sweet, gently spiced traditional English jelly that pairs beautifully with hard or blue cheeses.
Freshness & storage
Most cheeses are hand-cut to order, and while every effort is made to be as accurate as possible, the quoted weights are approximate. Cheeses are cut on the day of dispatch or at most the day before, ensuring maximum freshness and quality.
Cut cheeses will have a minimum shelf life of 10 days from the date of cutting.
Cheese is far more robust than most people realise — designed to travel and mature naturally. For expert guidance on how to look after your cheese, visit our blog on cheese refrigeration and storage.
Packaging
At The Norfolk Deli, our focus is on quality and care, not fancy packaging. We don’t use decorative wicker hampers for our cheeseboards — instead, your cheeses are packed in appropriately sized boxes with ice packs and insulation, ensuring they arrive in perfect, tip-top condition, ready to enjoy.
The price includes postage and packing, as well as a personalised handwritten message, making this the perfect ready-to-send gift for any cheese lover.
