Are all the products in your Norfolk Hampers made in Norfolk?

Yes. That's the pledge. If we call it a Norfolk Hamper, every product inside it is made in Norfolk. We don't quietly add products from elsewhere simply because they fit the theme or make the hamper easier to fill.

Are all hampers labelled "Norfolk Hampers" elsewhere filled with Norfolk-made products?

No — and this is one of the reasons we created the Norfolk Hamper Pledge.

There is no universal standard governing what a retailer means when it describes something as a "Norfolk Hamper". A hamper may be assembled or sold in Norfolk, contain a selection of Norfolk products, or have a Norfolk theme while also containing products made elsewhere.

Does "made in Norfolk" mean the ingredients have to come from Norfolk too?

Not necessarily. That would make products such as Norfolk-roasted coffee, chocolate and many preserves impossible to include. Our pledge relates to where the product is made or produced. The maker must genuinely produce the product in Norfolk rather than simply being based here or putting their label on something manufactured elsewhere

What's the difference between a Norfolk Hamper and a hamper containing Norfolk products?

Quite a big one. A hamper can contain one or two Norfolk products and still be marketed as having a Norfolk connection. Under our Norfolk Hamper Pledge, if we describe the hamper as a Norfolk Hamper, everything in it must qualify as Norfolk-made.

Are your Norfolk Hampers packed in Norfolk too?

Yes. Our hampers are selected and packed by us at The Norfolk Deli in Hunstanton, Norfolk, using products from independent Norfolk producers.

Do you check where products are actually made?

Yes. Provenance matters enormously to us. We work directly with many of our producers and actively check where products are manufactured. If a producer moves production outside Norfolk, the product no longer qualifies for our Norfolk-made ranges.

Why does the Norfolk Hamper Pledge matter?
