Meet Mark & Rosie

A Norfolk love story built on food, community, and a shared sense of purpose.

If you’ve ever stepped inside The Norfolk Deli, you’ve probably met us already.

We’re Mark and Rosie — husband and wife, business partners, cheese lovers, champions of Norfolk producers, and the two people who have spent the last decade building this deli one customer, one loaf, one wedge of cheese, and one hamper at a time.

People sometimes ask us how it all began.
The truth is, The Norfolk Deli wasn’t born from a business plan — it was born from a feeling. A feeling that Norfolk deserved a place to showcase its incredible food and drink. A place that felt warm, personal, human. A place where people could walk in and feel they were part of something special.

In 2014, we took a deep breath, opened the doors of our small deli in Hunstanton, and hoped people would come.

And they did!!

Building something together

In the early days, it was just the two of us doing everything: slicing cheese, serving customers, building shelves, sweeping floors, unpacking stock at midnight, and learning as we went. Those long days shaped us. They taught us resilience, humility, and a deep sense of pride in what we were creating.

Today, not much has changed — we’re still here every day.
  • Behind the counter.
  • In the packing room.
  • Choosing every cheese.
  • Selecting every jar.
  • Designing every hamper.
  • Answering every message.
  • Serving every customer who walks through the door.

This will always be a hands-on, heart-led business. That’s who we are

What we believe in

We believe in Norfolk — its big skies, its talented producers, and the unique food culture that deserves to be celebrated. Supporting local isn’t a tagline for us; it’s the backbone of everything we do.

We believe in proper food — cheese cut the way you want it, hampers filled with products that have stories, makers and growers who pour their lives into what they produce.

We believe in kindness — taking time with customers, answering questions, offering tasters, and always doing things the right way. And above all, we believe that small independent shops still matter… because people matter.

Why we do it

Every day, someone walks in and discovers a new cheese they’ve never tried, a local gin they didn’t know existed, or a hamper that ends up being the perfect gift. Every day, someone tells us a story about a product they loved. Every day, Norfolk’s producers trust us to represent them.

That’s why we do it.
This business isn’t just a shop — it’s an extension of our life together, a reflection of everything we care about, and a promise to always do our very best for the people who choose to support us.

You ask. We answer
