Pecorino Romano PDO – Italy’s Bold, Ancient Sheep’s Cheese
Dry, sharp, and full of history with a salty, savoury bite
Pecorino Romano PDO is one of Italy’s oldest and most iconic cheeses, made exclusively from 100% ewe’s milk in Sardinia, Lazio, and the Tuscan Province of Grosseto. Aged between 8 and 12 months, this hard, granular cheese packs a punch with its intensely salty, savoury flavour – perfect for those who prefer a stronger alternative to Parmesan.
Dating back to Roman times, this cheese was once a staple in a soldier’s rations. Today, it’s a hero on pasta, a standout on antipasti boards, and a beautiful match for cured meats, olives, and bold Italian wines.
Please note all cheeses are hand-cut, therefore the weights listed are approximate. We work very hard to cut them as accurately as we can!
