Norfolk White Lady – Norfolk’s Soft Ewe’s Milk Cheese
Creamy, rich, and tangy with a bloomy rind and bold local flavour
Norfolk White Lady is a full-fat, Brie-style sheep’s cheese handmade at Willow Farm in Deopham near Wymondham. Cheesemaker Becky Enefer produces this Norfolk original using milk from her 60-strong herd of white Friesland sheep, who graze on the lush pastures of the Black Fens.
While its bloomy white rind may resemble Brie, the similarities end there. Made with ewe’s milk and vegetarian rennet, this cheese is creamier, tangier, and fuller in flavour than its cow’s milk cousin. Mild and soft when young, it develops a rich, complex finish as it matures – a true celebration of Norfolk’s unexpected dairy talent.
