Baron Bigod Cheese
Award-winning British Brie made with raw milk in Suffolk
Baron Bigod is a soft, Brie-style artisan cheese made by Fen Farm Dairy in Suffolk. Often called Britain’s answer to Brie de Meaux, it’s crafted from raw Montbéliarde cow’s milk — the same rich, high-protein milk used in classic French cheeses like Comté and Vacherin.
Handmade by Jonny & Dulcie Cricklemore, Baron Bigod cheese is gravity-fed and hand-ladled using traditional pelle-à-brie techniques, which preserve the delicate structure of the milk. The result is a bloomy white rind with a golden, spoonable centre and deep, earthy flavours of milk, mushroom, and cave-aged complexity.
Aged for up to 8 weeks in cave-like conditions, Baron Bigod is a standout among British artisan cheeses. Ideal for cheese boards, wine pairings, or gourmet gifts, it’s a must-try for lovers of soft, unpasteurised cheese.
