Dolcelatte
A creamy, sweet Italian blue from Lombardy
Dolcelatte is a soft, buttery Italian blue cheese from the Lombardy region, celebrated for its rich, creamy texture and gentle sweetness — “Dolce” meaning sweet in Italian. Originally created in the 12th century near the town of Gorgonzola, this famous cheese was traditionally matured in warm, humid “purgatory” rooms to encourage its signature blue veining.
Inside, the cheese is pale and luscious, delicately marbled with fine streaks of blue mould that melt beautifully on the palate. Its natural rind is slightly crumbly and greyish, but the paste beneath is luxuriously smooth and spreadable — the definition of indulgence.
Awarded Super Gold at the 2014 World Cheese Awards, Dolcelatte Cheese is a must-have for lovers of mild, creamy blue cheeses. Perfect paired with crusty bread, figs, apricots, or even a drizzle of honey, it’s a stunning addition to cheeseboards, cheese hampers, or wine nights.
A true classic from Lombardy — mellow, elegant, and dangerously moreish.
Please note all cheeses are hand-cut, therefore the weights listed are approximate. We work very hard to cut them as accurately as we can.
