Frequently asked questions

How long will my cheese keep once it arrives?

It depends on the type of cheese. Harder cheeses like Cheddar or Comté can last 2–3 weeks if wrapped and stored correctly, while soft cheeses are best enjoyed within 5–7 days. Every piece we send is cut fresh to order.

How should I store my cheese at home?

Keep cheese in the fridge, ideally in a vegetable drawer where humidity levels are higher. Wrap it in wax paper or cheese paper (not cling film) and place it in a container to prevent drying out. Before serving, always bring it to room temperature for the best flavour

How do you keep cheese chilled during delivery

We use temperature-controlled packaging, ice packs, insulated liners, and next-day courier delivery. Our packaging has been tested to keep cheese at safe, chilled temperatures throughout its journey — even in summer.

What’s the best way to serve a cheeseboard?

Start with variety a mix of textures and milk types (soft, hard, blue, goat’s, etc.). Remove cheese from the fridge an hour before serving, and serve with simple accompaniments like chutney, fruit, and crackers. The goal is to let the cheese shine, not to overload the board.
Are all your cheeses made in Norfolk?
Not all, but many are. We proudly showcase over 30 Norfolk-made cheeses, alongside the best of British and continental artisan cheesemaking. If you’re after Norfolk-only options, look for our Norfolk Cheese Collection or filter by region on the cheese page.
Can I freeze cheese?
You can, but it’s not always ideal. Hard cheeses like Cheddar, Parmesan and Gruyère freeze reasonably well, though they may become slightly crumbly once thawed — best used for cooking. Soft cheeses do not freeze well and will lose their texture. If you do freeze cheese, wrap it tightly, freeze in small portions, and consume within 6 weeks.
Can I order cheese for a specific date?
Yes. At checkout, you can choose your preferred delivery date. We cut and pack your cheese the day it leaves us, so it arrives in peak condition. Ideal for birthdays, dinner parties, and — of course — Christmas
How do I know how much cheese to buy?
For cheeseboards or events, we recommend:
  • 70–100g per person if cheese is part of a larger meal
  • 120–150g per person if cheese is the main event
For hampers or gifts, a mix of three to five cheeses in different styles always goes down well
