The Great British Cheese Board
A celebration of Britain’s most iconic artisan cheeses
From the rugged Cornish coast to the rolling hills of Northumberland, The Great British Cheese Board brings together a handpicked collection of the nation’s finest artisan cheeses. This is Britain on a cheeseboard — a showcase of regional character, traditional craftsmanship, and exceptional flavour.
Curated by The Norfolk Deli, each cheese in this selection represents the very best of its region — from heritage producers to modern award-winners. It’s the perfect gift for any cheese lover, or a show-stopping centrepiece for your next gathering.
Inside this cheeseboard you’ll find:
-
Doddington (approx. 250g) or Cheesemaker’s Special (approx. 250g) – Depending on availability, this place on the board will feature either Doddington, an exceptional farmhouse cheese from North Doddington Farm in Northumberland, known for its nutty, savoury, Alpine-style depth and firm texture, or Cheesemaker’s Special from Alsop & Walker in Sussex — a limited-edition creation chosen for its outstanding flavour, character, and craftsmanship. Both embody the very best of British cheesemaking.
-
Cornish Yarg (approx. 250g) – Made by Lynher Dairies in Cornwall. A semi-hard cow’s milk cheese hand-wrapped in nettle leaves, developing a fresh, creamy core with a delicate earthy tang. A true Cornish classic.
-
Colston Bassett Stilton (approx. 250g) – Crafted in Nottinghamshire by one of Britain’s most respected dairies. Rich, creamy, and beautifully balanced, this is the benchmark of British blue cheese, known for its luxurious texture and deep flavour.
-
Woodside Red (approx. 250g) – Made by Alsop & Walker in East Sussex. A beautifully aged Red Leicester-style cheese with a striking orange hue, sweet nutty flavour, and crumbly texture. Traditional yet vibrant — a modern British favourite.
-
Tunworth (approx. 250g) – Produced by Hampshire Cheese Company. A soft, bloomy-rind cow’s milk cheese, often described as “the British Camembert.” Creamy, rich, and complex with gentle mushroom and earthy notes.
-
Pack of artisan cheese crackers – Specially selected to complement both soft and hard cheeses.
-
Jar of The Garden Pantry chutney – Handmade in Norfolk, using seasonal ingredients to provide the perfect sweet and spiced contrast to the cheeses.
Freshness & storage
Most cheeses are hand-cut to order, and while every effort is made to be as accurate as possible, the quoted weights are approximate. Cheeses are cut on the day of dispatch or at most the day before, ensuring maximum freshness and quality.
Cut cheeses have a minimum shelf life of 10 days from the date of cutting.
Cheese is far more robust than many assume — designed to travel and mature naturally. For expert guidance on how to look after your cheese, visit our blog on cheese refrigeration and storage
At The Norfolk Deli, our focus is on quality and care, not fancy packaging. We don’t use decorative wicker hampers for our cheeseboards — instead, your cheeses are packed in appropriately sized boxes with ice packs and insulation, ensuring they arrive in perfect, tip-top condition, ready to enjoy.
The price includes postage and packing, as well as a personalised handwritten message, making this the perfect ready-to-send gift for any cheese lover.
