Montgomery Cheddar
Award-winning Somerset Cheddar with bold flavour and deep tradition
Montgomery Cheddar is a true icon of British farmhouse cheesemaking. Handcrafted in Somerset by the Montgomery family, this raw milk Cheddar is aged in clothbound wheels for up to 18 months, developing a natural rind and rich complexity that has made it one of the most celebrated traditional Cheddars in the UK.
Bold and nutty with savoury, tangy sharpness, Montgomery’s flavour deepens over time to reveal earthy, lingering notes. The texture is firm, crumbly, and slightly flaky — perfect for slicing, grating, or enjoying on its own. Whether on a cheeseboard or melted into a favourite dish, this is a cheese that brings heritage and luxury to every bite.
Please note: All cheeses are hand-cut, and weights are approximate. As a handmade artisan cheese, Montgomery may contain naturally occurring blue veins — a sign of authenticity and part of its rustic charm.
