Brebirousse D’Argental
A silky, rich French ewe’s milk cheese from the Rhône-Alpes
Brebirousse D’Argental is an indulgent soft cheese made from 100% ewe’s milk in the Rhône-Alpes region of France. Matured for approximately 3 to 4 weeks, this beautiful cheese develops a thin orange washed rind and a luxuriously creamy, buttery interior that melts on the tongue.
Its name – Brebirousse meaning “red sheep” – reflects both its milk source and its attractive, lightly washed rind. The cheese is made from pasteurised ewe’s milk and is not suitable for vegetarians, as it uses traditional animal rennet.
Flavour-wise, Brebirousse D’Argental is smooth and mild when young, with gentle nutty and milky sweetness. As it ripens, the flavour deepens, offering soft earthy and floral undertones while retaining its luscious texture.
Perfect for spreading on warm crusty bread, pairing with a glass of Chardonnay, Viognier, or a light rosé, or serving as a creamy centrepiece on a continental cheeseboard.
Please note that all cheeses are hand-cut; therefore, the weights listed are approximate. We work very hard to cut them as accurately as we can.
