Jancis Robinson: "Best English Pinot Noir under £30"
Produced in the Stiffkey Valley at Walsingham Estate Vineyard, this Pinot Noir 2023 is a beautifully balanced Norfolk red wine with a light ruby colour, fine tannins and vibrant red berry character. Naturally wild fermented in stainless steel and left on skins for 14 days, it develops soft flavours of red berries alongside freshness and balance, reflecting both the grape variety and the vineyard’s chalk-rich Norfolk soil.
Pinot Noir is one of the world’s most respected grape varieties, and Norfolk’s dry climate and chalk foundation provide ideal conditions for producing elegant, fruit-led wines. This vintage represents the continued development of Walsingham Estate Vineyard’s young vines, demonstrating the growing confidence and potential of English red wine produced in Norfolk.
Exceptionally versatile, it pairs beautifully with Norfolk charcuterie, ham, pâté and terrines, as well as roasted chicken and lighter meat dishes. Its freshness and balance also make it an excellent companion to artisan Norfolk cheeses and grazing boards.
Produced in Norfolk and carefully selected by The Norfolk Deli, specialists in Norfolk cheese, hampers and artisan food.
