Why It’s On Our Shelves
Norfolk-grown English white wine with freshness, clarity and coastal character
Aromatic elderflower, green apple & lemon zest. Crisp & easy drinking. Hand harvested 10.8% ABV
Produced in the Stiffkey Valley at Walsingham Estate Vineyard, this Bacchus 2023 is a dry, fresh Norfolk white wine showcasing vibrant aromas of elderflower and citrus, supported by bright green apple and lemon zest notes. Hand-harvested from vines planted in 2019, this second vintage reflects both the vineyard’s chalk-rich soil and Norfolk’s ideal cool-climate growing conditions.
Bacchus is widely regarded as England’s signature white grape, producing wines with aromatic freshness and crisp structure. The chalk seam beneath the vineyard — the same geological formation found in Champagne, Chablis and Burgundy — contributes to the wine’s clarity, balance and finesse.
Elegant and versatile, it pairs beautifully with Norfolk cheeses, particularly fresh and soft styles, as well as spring vegetables, seafood and light dishes. Whether served chilled alongside a cheeseboard, enjoyed on a summer evening, or included in a Norfolk hamper, this wine captures the growing confidence of English wine produced in Norfolk.
Produced in Norfolk and carefully selected by The Norfolk Deli, specialists in Norfolk cheese, hampers and artisan food.
