Red Storm is a vintage Red Leicester made by Snowdonia Cheese Company, matured for extended periods to develop remarkable depth, texture, and intensity. Crafted using traditional methods and carefully aged, it represents a bold and refined expression of this classic British territorial cheese.
Unlike younger Red Leicester, Red Storm undergoes prolonged maturation, allowing it to develop a firmer structure and greater flavour complexity. The texture becomes dense yet smooth, with the occasional formation of naturally occurring calcium crystals that provide a satisfying crunch—an indicator of careful ageing and exceptional quality.
The flavour is rich and deeply savoury, with pronounced nutty notes balanced by subtle caramel sweetness. As it develops on the palate, the cheese reveals layers of complexity and a long, warming finish.
