Why It’s On Our Shelves
There are plenty of orange marmalades. RB Provisions Citrus Marmalade is rather more interesting.
Instead of relying on a single citrus fruit, RB Provisions brings together grapefruit, orange, lemon and lime, each contributing something different to the finished jar.
Orange provides familiar sweetness and depth, grapefruit brings that characteristic marmalade bitterness, while lemon and lime introduce a brighter, sharper citrus edge.
The result is a sweet, tangy, medium-set marmalade with fine strips of rind running through it for extra texture — recognisably traditional marmalade, but with considerably more going on.
What does RB Provisions Citrus Marmalade taste like?
Expect a lively combination of sweet, sharp and gently bitter citrus flavours.
The four fruits are the key. Grapefruit adds depth and bitterness; orange provides sweetness and familiar marmalade richness; lemon adds freshness; and lime contributes an extra aromatic citrus lift.
With 40g of citrus fruit per 100g, there's plenty of genuine fruit character, while thin strips of rind provide texture without overwhelming the marmalade.
Which citrus fruits are in it?
Four: grapefruit, orange, lemon and lime.
It's this combination that makes RB Provisions Citrus Marmalade different from a conventional orange marmalade. Rather than one dominant citrus flavour, you get different layers of sweetness, acidity, bitterness and aroma in every spoonful.
Perfect with:
- Hot buttered toast
- Sourdough and breakfast breads
- Croissants and pastries
- Crumpets and English muffins
- Porridge and yoghurt
- Cakes and baking
- Glazes for ham or roast pork
Or, of course, eaten straight from the jar if nobody happens to be looking.
More than something for toast
Marmalade is surprisingly useful in the kitchen.
The combination of sweetness, acidity and citrus bitterness makes this particularly good for glazing ham or pork, adding to cake mixtures and puddings, or combining with soy, ginger and spices to make a sticky citrus glaze.
But sometimes simplicity wins: good bread, proper butter and a generous spoonful of four-fruit marmalade is difficult to improve upon.

RB Provisions is an independent Norfolk producer creating small-batch preserves with an emphasis on flavour, quality ingredients and recipes that bring something different to the breakfast table and beyond.
It's precisely the kind of Norfolk producer we want represented at The Norfolk Deli: independently made, full of character and considerably more interesting than another anonymous jar from a supermarket shelf.
Made in Norfolk. Four citrus fruits. One seriously good marmalade.
