Textured, smoky & beautifully refined — a bold, barrel-kissed expression of Norfolk Bacchus
Produced in Norfolk by Flint →
Flint Vineyard’s Bacchus Fumé is one of the most distinctive and sophisticated interpretations of Bacchus produced in England today. Crafted by Ben and Hannah Witchell at their award-winning winery in Earsham, South Norfolk, this wine reveals a deeper, more complex side of the Bacchus grape — a style shaped by gentle oak influence, extended ageing and meticulous winemaking.
Unlike classic Bacchus, which tends to be bright and aromatic, Bacchus Fumé layers those hallmark notes of elderflower, gooseberry and citrus with subtle flavours of smoke, spice, vanilla and toasted oak. The result is a richer, more textured white wine with a creamy mouthfeel, refined structure and exceptional depth. It remains fresh and vibrant, but with added warmth, roundness and complexity — a fusion of English precision and Burgundian elegance.
This is Bacchus reimagined: expressive, mature and crafted with a winemaker’s eye for balance. It’s an outstanding example of how English still wines are evolving, and why Norfolk is fast becoming one of the UK’s most exciting wine regions.
