The 2022 vintage at Burn Valley Vineyard marked a milestone moment for winemaker Matt Abbey, who crafted his first still Chardonnay from an exceptional harvest of hand-picked Norfolk grapes. The result is a beautifully balanced wine that captures the richness and subtlety of the vintage — full of depth, structure, and quiet elegance.

Fermented in stainless steel to preserve the purity of the fruit, the wine was aged for six months in a combination of new and seasoned Hungarian oak barrels, adding layers of texture and gentle spice. On the nose, aromas of honeysuckle, vanilla, and ripe tropical fruit mingle with hints of toasted oak, while the palate unfolds with stone fruits, soft butter notes, and a beautifully rounded mouthfeel. The finish is long, smooth, and perfectly balanced between freshness and indulgence.

With just eleven barrels produced, this limited-edition release embodies the craftsmanship and ambition that define Burn Valley Vineyard. At 13.5% ABV, it’s an exceptional food wine — a natural match for roast chicken, creamy pasta dishes, buttery seafood gratin, or even a simple plate of local Norfolk cheeses.
