Made with 54.9% salmon, the fish remains firmly at the heart of the recipe. Butter adds richness and a luxurious texture, while lemon oil provides a fresh citrus lift and black pepper brings gentle warmth and seasoning.
It is a relatively simple combination of ingredients, allowing the distinctive flavour of the salmon to remain the star of the pâté.
What does Salmon Pâté with Lemon & Black Pepper taste like?
Expect a rich, savoury salmon flavour with buttery richness, balanced by fresh citrus notes and the gentle warmth of black pepper.
The lemon isn't there to dominate the salmon. At just 0.1% lemon oil, it provides a subtle freshness that cuts through some of the richness of the fish and butter, while black pepper adds another layer of flavour without introducing significant heat.
The result is creamy, savoury and well balanced, with the classic combination of salmon, lemon and pepper doing exactly what it should.

Cornish Charcuterie produces its range of pâtés and rillettes in Cornwall, combining traditional charcuterie principles with carefully chosen ingredients and straightforward recipes.
Here, salmon accounts for more than half of the finished pâté, combined with butter and onion before being simply seasoned with sea salt, black pepper and lemon oil.
There is no need to overcomplicate a combination that already works so well: salmon provides the flavour, butter the richness, and lemon and pepper the finishing touches.
