A well-known, classic cheese with a hard grainy texture and flavours reminiscent of fresh pineapple and citrus fruits. Aged for a minium of 2 years – this cheese is excellent with ripe fresh fruits and all pasta dishes. In 1348 the Italian writer and poet Boccaccio mentioned Parmigiano-Reggiano in his book Decameron, while English diarist Samuel Pepys buried his Parmesan to preserve it from the Great Fire of London in 1666. The Parmigiano-Reggiano name is protected by European law, having the coveted PROTECTED GEOGRAPHICAL INDICATION (PGI) status.
Please note all cheeses are hand cut, therefore the weights listed are approximate. We work very hard to cut them as accurately as we can!
