Tomme de Savoie – A Taste of Alpine Heritage

Tomme de Savoie is the most recognised of the Alpine Tomme cheeses – a centuries-old farmhouse recipe born from frugality and resourcefulness. Originally made with skimmed milk during harsh mountain winters, it provided families with vital nourishment when resources were scarce.

Today, the Tomme de Savoie we select is crafted using whole milk from Tarine and Abondance cows, raised by two small producers in the Savoie region. With a natural rind and uncooked, pressed texture, this cheese is delightfully light yet complex. Expect a yogurty freshness, nutty undertones, and a gentle mushroom aroma from its rustic, earthy rind.
